Michelle Murphy
Michelle Murphy is the current President, the proud mother of three daughters and two grandchildren. She is a native St. Johns County resident. She has resided in Porpoise Point for the last eight years. Michelle has been an active member of VBMS BOD since 2023. She brings 30+ years of leadership and management experience in multi residential property management, residential construction, and extensive Board of Director experience including her current role on the executive BOD of the First Coast Apartment Association. She is passionate about beautification and revitalization of the Vilano area.
Tabitha Frost
Tabitha is the current Vice President, a resident of Porpoise Point and mother of three. She serves on the School Advisory Council for Ketterlinus Elementary School and has worked with the North Shores Improvement Association. Tabitha is the owner of a digital marketing and design agency. She brings extensive experience in online marketing, graphic design and web development.
Nick Somerville
Nick is a native Floridian, husband to Danielle and father of four. He is a Florida Atlantic University alumni and moved to the Vilano area eight years ago. He is a real estate broker and mortgage broker with 22+ years of experience in all aspects of real estate acquisition and dispostion, as well as real property management. Nick is the owner and operator of two independent corporations with multiple agents to assist customers achieve their homeownership and financial goals.
Jim LaCour
Jim lives in the Porpoise Point neighborhood of Vilano Beach with his wife Rachel. Jim is a Certified General Contractor and Certified Commercial Pool Contractor and has a background in many aspects of residential and multifamily development and construction. He and Rachel operate LaCour Construction residential and commercial swimming pools and hardscapes.
Mike Heflinger
Mike is a seasoned hospitality leader and hotel general manager currently heading Hyatt Place Saint Augustine/Vilano Beach. Before moving to St Augustine in 2023, he served as GM at Margaritaville Resort in Biloxi and has held GM roles across multiple Hyatt House and Hyatt Place properties. A Florida native, he earned his BS from UF. Mike is a husband and new father, also an avid car enthusiast and traveler. He is active in the St Augustine community and regularly shares insights on hotel operations and guest experience via social channels.
Elaine McCarty
Elaine is a retired school teacher who loves to travel, paint, garden and spend time with her five granddaughters. She looks forward to meeting you at our community events!
Christy Haynes
Christy has been married to her college sweetheart "Brady" for 30 years and together they have three kids, two dogs and own Haynes Construction, based out of Vilano. She enjoys giving back to the community through local non-profits such as Seaside Church. She worked in commercial marketing and design for 20 years before starting a home renovation company in 2018.
Rae Tanner
Rae is a seasoned talent development leader with 25 years of experience in diverse organizations and industries including real estate, banking, pharmaceutical, retail and insurance. Her deep expertise in executive coaching and team development will be an asset to VBMS as our new board comes together to drive progress in 2026.
Reb Phillips
Reb is a Florida native with over 25 years of experience in leadership, management, and community engagement, particularly in athletics and youth-focused organizations. He has held prominent roles including serving on the Florida USTA Board of Directors and leading local tennis associations, earning recognition as Tournament Director of the Year. REB also directed tennis operations at Selva Marina and Atlantic Beach Country Club, overseeing facilities, membership, and programming. Since 2017, he has been an entrepreneur as owner of The Knight School Jacksonville, promoting youth development through elementary chess programs. Now a resident of Vilano Beach, he is eager to support and strengthen the local community.
Lea Kilgallon
Lea Cason joined the board to support the long-term care and character of the Vilano Beach community. As a full-time academic librarian, she contributes research and event-planning skills while volunteering with the Vilanoscape Strike Team to support events and beautification efforts. Lea enjoys helping projects move from ideas to action and looks forward to continued involvement with the community.
Jane Norton
Linda LaCerva
Linda is the Executive Director of VBMS and has resided in Vilano for the past 20 years after a career in retail management, from entry level to CEO. She has been co-owner of Metalartz for 16 years. Linda served on both NSIA and VBMS boards. She was VBMS President from 2022-2024. Linda strongly believes in community involvement and has been instrumental in the past five years of improvements.
